“Be the heroine of your life” Asian Media USA © Chicago IL: The Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (TAGC), The first Telugu association in North America (TANA) in collaboration with American Telangana Sangham (ATS) hosted a successful event to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 5th, 2023. The event was held at Olive Palace Banquets at Mt Prospect. This event has brought together more than 500 women from different parts of Chicago land to celebrate the theme “Be the heroine of your life”. All women beautifully dressed up with sequin and ruffle saree wear. Hoffman Estates, IL: The Indian-American community organization Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) of Chicago, celebrated Indian Heritage Night for the 6th consecutive year, at the NOW Arena where the Windy City Bulls – the official NBA G League affiliates of the Chicago Bulls, took on the Raptors 905, a Canadian Basketball Team FIA Chicago is a 501 (c)(3) status, non-profit umbrella organization of other Indian Associations in the Chicago land and Midwest representing in excess of 300,000 culturally diverse but united Asian-Indians. FIA has been actively engaged in serving the Indian American community for the past 10 years and has been instrumental in promoting Indian culture.  Chairman & Founder President FIA Sunil Shah, along with the FIA President Vinita Gulabani, and Founder & Past President Onkar Singh Sangha, presided over the Indian Heritage Night celebrations. Shivani Shah is a very famous Gujarati folk singer, and she performs with her group every year during the Navratri festival. The event attracted over thousands of Gujrati families and Indians alike to celebrate the splendor of Navaratri. The attendees ranged from toddlers to seniors and were dressed in vibrant and colorful Indian attire, especially the ladies and children who were seen wearing bright colorful, dazzling traditional dresses with matching ornaments and extravagant hairstyles. Under the TAGC leadership, Bathukamma team took the initiative to make this event a grand success with uniqueness, all along maintaining the traditions. The team decided to purchase Chanderi pattu sarees to celebrate the festival with more enthusiasm. About 200 women wore matching sarees and brought color and uniqueness to set a record among all other Bathukamma celebrations across the world.
