Chicago IL: Harish Bhatt, President of the renowned Association of Indian Pharmacists in America (AIPHA), hosted AIPHA’s Annual Banquet and Business Expo on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Meadows Club, 2950 W Golf Road, Rolling Meadows, IL to celebrate with their members and their families. The AIPHA Banquet and Expo offers a platform in which members can network amongst themselves, as well as gives them an opportunity to meet and greet with the decision makers that influence change. Chicago IL: The second International Day of Yoga will be celebrated by the Consulate General of India in collaboration with the City of Sandwich on 25th June, 2016 at Timber creek Inn, 3300 Drew Ave, Sandwich, Illinois. In this connection, the kick off ceremony of 2nd International of Yoga Day was celebrated on 17th May, 2016 in the Consulate premises. Indian roads claim more than 16 lives every hour in accidents on an average. Over 141,000 people died in crashes in 2014, 3% more than the number of fatalities in 2013. According to World Health Organization (WHO), India has now overtaken China and has the worst road traffic accident rate worldwide. Rajasthan, a northwestern state in India, is among the top five states in India, that together account for nearly 40% of the fatalities in India. Training the first responders, who are often the Police Force, Fire Fighters and Emergency Medical Team (EMT) and the Doctors is very important to save the lives of those who meet with accidents. With the objective of training the first respondents in accidents, American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine, a division of Manipal Global Education Services, organized a week-long training to at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) in Jaipur and Rabindra Nath Tagore College of Medical Sciences in Udaipur Rajasthan, India. Representing the Tamil community, Chicago Tamil Sangam (CTS) hosted its Pongal Vizha “Festival of harvest” celebrations showcasing its affinity towards rich Tamil culture, on January 31, 2015, at Hemmens Cultural Center, Elgin, IL. FIA-Chicago hosts a colorful Republic Day Gala

Chicago IL: The Federation of Indian Associations-Chicago (FIA) hosted a festive gala banquet in celebration of the India Republic Day that was enhanced by the spirit of patriotism of the Indian Americans filled to the capacity at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows, IL to united celebrate the 66th year of the India’s sovereign democratic republic. Maharudram Event at Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago

Chicago IL: The Maharudram Committee of The Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago, Lemont, IL organized the grand inauguration ceremony of the prelude series titled “Rudra: Who Really is He?” on Saturday Jan 31, 2015. The function was attended by over 700 people and the Sama Rathi Auditorium in the Temple was fully packed. The overflow crowd watched the program live on an overhead display in the Gupta Hall at the Temple. This is the prelude program to the main event “Maharudram and Navachandi Mahayagnam” coming up later this year in June. The prelude is comprised of a series of enlightening discourses and cultural presentations bringing out the spiritual symbolism of Mahayagnas and their contribution to universal peace, welfare and prosperity. Lohri festival: Celebrations of fertility and fanfare at ABCD

Chicago, IL: Lohri festival was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at American Business Community of Desis (ABCD) on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Cascade Banquets, 800 West Irving Park Road, Bensenville, IL. More than 200 people attended the function. The weather during the day didn’t deter excitement the members of ABCD.
