"Gujarat, Gujarati, Gujaratism”

AIANA (Association of Indian Americans in North America) organized a curtain raiser for their spectacular three day event Chaalo Gujarat on June 12, 2012. This prestigious curtain raiser was held at Nicholas Music Center, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Approximately 400 people attended this prestigious and “memorable” event that started at 7pm.

AAINA will be holding their third Chaalo Gujarat World Gujarati Conference during Labor Day Weekend, which falls on August 31 to September 2, at the Raritan Expo Center in NJ. Founding President, Visionary and dynamic community leader, Mr. Sunil Nayak exclaims “It will be a memorable event and we want to showcase Gujarat of glorious past, the enterprising present and the bright future. The event will be quite different as compared to the earlier two ventures. This will be a unique event to showcase “Gujarat.”

Highlights of the event over the three day extravaganza include: Celebrity Performance, Spiritual Discourses, cultural Shows, Trade Show, International Property Show, Seminars & Conferences, Poetry & Literature, Youth Events, Knowledge Exchange and Business Meets. Some major attractions include; Kaleidoscope, Virtual tour to Gujarat, Wax Statues of Legends, Multimedia Shows, Innovative Galleries, Laser Show and for the first time ever Miss. Gujarat USA 2012.

Preparations are in full swing. One of the highlights of the event will be a three-dimensional film on Gujarat in Gujarati and will be screened for the first time on a giant screen. Besides that multimedia show, seminars on different subjects, a pageant for Gujarati girls, the usual Gujarati Dayro, musical entertainment and not to forget the mouth-watering Gujarati cuisine will be served.

The key goal of this event is to familiarize and popularize the 2- letter Gujarati word “Kem-Cho” as universal greeting all over the world. People from all around the world are expected to come and participate in this amazing three day event to capture Gujarat at its best.

Besides, a 30-feet tall wooden charkha – popularized by Mahatma Gandhi will also be run throughout the three-day event. According to Sunil, the main gate will have a 12 feet high replica of the famous Rudramala Gate of Patan. Besides that, plans are also in place to have 10 people dressed exactly like Mahatma Gandhi who will be riding the Harley Davidson motor bikes in front of the floats during the Independence Day Parade in New York and on Oak Tree Road. The idea is to send a message that Gujarat and Gandhi have come to Manhattan, Sunil explained. Sunil, known for his perfection, has planned a unique invitation card which will highlight the concept of the famous Kabirvad and the name of the invitee inscribed on it. “This can also be kept as a memento in your drawing rooms as it will be something unique.”

The dedicated AAINA USA committee team that will be bringing you back to your Gujarati roots are: Sunil Nayak, Pinakin Pathak, Nishil Parikh, Eshita Patel, Krupal Shukla, Chandrakant Patel, Niket Parikh, Ankur vaidya, Reshma Kadakia, Suresh Jani, Dhruti Amin, Mahesh Mehta, Tushar Patel, Nimesh Kadakia, Sangita Patel, Manisha Mehta, Hemal Parikh, Deepak Trivedi, Amitkumar Shah, Jayesh Patel, Sanam Amin, Kumud Shah.
