An evening with SAREGAMA singing star Siniti Mishra for a good cause”

Chicago IL: In the last few years Chicago land has become the hub of Indian programs and activities, in the row a musical evening with Siniti Mishra a remarkable singer of SAREGAMAPA (the Judge of Chicago Indian Icon) was organized by Shri Prashant Mohanty an Oriya community activist with support from Cecil Joseph of IDF USA, local Singer Chetan Saini a.k.a DJ Magic and Ravi Rawat of India House. The sole motive was to raise funds for Uttarakhand flood relief. Over 300 people were present at the event

The program was held on Saturday September 7, 2013 at India House Banquet Schaumburg. Sound system was sponsored and coordinated by Chetan Saini and Milan Banerji who were accompanied by Live Band known as Apna style Band: having Asif on Keyboard, Zeeshan on Bass Guitar, Subhashish on Tabla and Nadeem on Drum.

The program was emceed by versatile Stage artists Noman Khan and Nishma Patel who welcomed the crowd and began with National Anthem sung by Karen Joseph and Indian by Noman Khan. This was followed by Slide show depicting beginning and progress of IDF highlighting its activities and recognition. Thereafter Noman khan described vows suffered by Uttarakhand Disaster and a Slide show was shown highlighting incomparable natural calamities and its sufferings with a humble request by Amitabh Bachan to help Flood victims. Noman khan invited trio who is a dedicated team of selfless devotion that is Cecil Joseph, Prashant Mohanty and Ravi Rawat and all of them described what made this event possible and thanked Chetan Saini, Siniti Mishra, all the Sponsors and all those remained present at the short notice.

Without further ado Ms. Siniti Mishra the SAREGAMAPA singing star and the winner of most remarkable voice was called upon the stage by the emcees, she started her program with a satisfying note that she received memorable support from Chicago on her earlier visit. Siniti enthralled the audience with the popular Bollywood numbers, her melodious voice and semi classical singing spellbound the audience. Siniti was overwhelmed by the huge response from the audience and continued to sing for two hours. The stage was handed over to Chicago’s very talented singer Mr. Chetan Saini who surprised everyone with his notable voice his song selection and impeccable singing talent received equal response. Chetan was at his best while singing new songs.

After a short Dinner break Siniti took over the stage once again followed by Chetan Saini both were fabulous as duo. Overall the singers, the musicians, the band the emcees the video and the format of the program made it one of the best memorable evenings for Chicagoans who are second to none in promoting talented artist like Siniti Mishra and Chetan Saini and also supporting a good cause like IDF and Uttarakhand flood relief. The event raised significant donations beyond expectations of the organizers.

Siniti Mishra belongs to a small place in Orissa, Bolangir district; classical touch in the singing of Siniti Mishra is always appealing. Awesome performance, specially “Jhoote naina bole” she won the hearts of millions of viewers around the world, the magic in her voice makes you listen to her again and again.
