10-13-2012 Hari OM Mandir fund raising
Chicago IL: Hari Om Mandir celebrated their 25th Annual Fund Raising Dinner with great fan and fare on Saturday, 13th October, 2012 at India House Banquet Hall, Schaumburg, IL.
The program started with chanting of Shloka, ‘Karpur Gaurav Karunavtaram’ by Mrs. Sneh Chaudhary. Thereafter she introduced the MC’s for the evening Mrs. Indu Wadhwa who in turn called Gaurav, RJ from Desi Junction, as her co-host for the evening. Priests performed the Ganpati pooja and BOT Chairman Ayodhia Salwan, along with Rajeev Bharel, President Executive Board and Brij Sharma, Chairman Fund Raising, lighted the lamp.
Govind Dhingra sang a Bhajan ‘Aaja Aaja Aajare Tu Gita ke Bhagwan tu Apna Vachan Nibhajare’. After this Brij Sharma and Rajeev Bharel gave welcoming speeches. Brij Sharma spoke about Temple and their importance for immigrants. Rajeev Bharel highlighted the contribution of all senior members who have worked day and night to generate the funds for setting up this temple. He also thanked the members of Fund Raising Committee and the members of both the Board who worked tirelessly to make this event a great success.
This was followed by a speech by the Board of Trustees Chairman, Ayodhia Salwan. He apprised every one about the current status of the 20 feet Hanumanji’s statue being made in India for installation in the Mandir parking lot. He paid respect to all those senior members of the society who has been donating their time and money over past several years.
This was followed by a cultural program compiled by the children of all ages. In between the performances Mrs. Indu Wadhwa & Gaurav shared lot of jokes.
Main performers of the night were Raju Bankapur, Anju Lal & Pratibha Jairath. Anju Lal entertained the audience with songs and jokes. Raju Bankapur sang many songs in voice of Rajesh Khanna and Kishore Kumar like Ye Sham Mastani, Madhosh Kiyeja, Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Ayegi Tu, Rup Tera Mastana, Pyar Mera Diwana, Mere Mehboob Kyamat Hogi Aa, Pratima sang songs, Na Tum Hamen Jano, Na Ham Tumhe Jane, Aage Bhi Ja ne Tu, Pichhe Bhi Jane Tu. Pratibha also sang duets with Raju Bankapur.
Mr. SatPal Salwan, who was the keynote speaker gave a speech and about various ways of donation. The trio (Ayodhia Salwan, Rajeev Bharel, and Brij Sharma) also kept on updating on the status of donations and pledges.
After dinner Mr. Satish Sachdev, came on stage to encourage donations. He gave a brief about the monthly expenses of the temple viz a viz revenue and urged everyone to donate generously to cover the deficit.
Mr. Ayodhia Salwan along with the current and past presidents honored Mr. Ranbir Tangri, Mrs. Usha Singla and Mr. Ravi Rawat of India House. He highlighted the contribution of all the three over the past several years. Mrs. Madhu Salwan also sang a song. The last cultural item for the evening was Bhangra dance by the youth team. Tushar Sharma and his team gave a spell bound performance. Mr. Sham Rawal gave vote of thanks. Jeetu Patel and Hardev Raj coordinated the sales of raffle tickets. In the end of the program 10 door prizes and 3 raffle prizes were drawn.
The program was a great success and ended up with collection over 120k. It was a great team work and all the volunteers and Executives deserve compliments for their hard work. Special mention here goes to Anil Saxena, Incharge of Special Events, Akshay Sarkar, past President of Executive Board, Gopal Tiwari, Treasurer, Sham Rawal, Vice Chairman Board of Trustees, Satish Chander, Member Board of Trustees, Vipan Wadhera, past President of Executive Board and Vikas Chaudhary.

About Hari OM Mandir
Hari Om Mandir located at DuPage County in the heart of Chicago land. The Mandir has statues of all major North Indian Gods & Goddesses. Every Sunday there is a Havan and general congregation followed by Aarti and Bhojan Prasad. On every first Saturday of the month we have Devi Jagran from 7 – 10pm. Every Monday there is Shiv Puja and every Tuesday we have Hanuman Challis Path. There are two learned priests available in temple, for Poojas, Havan, Kathas etc in the temple and at home.
