Alliance of Midwest India Association Celebrates India Independence day at Naperville Town Hall. Aug 18, 2012.

Naperville, IL. For the fourth year Naperville had a
huge Indian gathering at the City Hall on Aug 18th, to
celebrate the India Independence day hosted by the
Alliance of Midwest India Associations, Chairman Mr.
Prem Lalvani, Directors Mr. M. Bhaskaran, Krishan
Sant, Dave Vasudevan, Suresh Khattar, Prasad
Gharkhedkar, Sangeeta Wadwani, Archana Ochani,
Nadja Lalvani greeted and welcomed the dignitaries
and the guests. Mayor George A. Pradel, Mayor Dr.
Lalmalani (Oakbrook), Mayor Dr. Trivedi (Lockport),
Illnois State Representative Darleen Senger addressed
the gathering.
Tri-Colored India flag was gently hoisted as the
enthusiastic crowd chanted Bharat Mata Ki jai and Vande
Matharam. Mayor Pradel offered a brilliant speech that
cheered the entire audience. Gautham Khanna was
the emcee for the event. American National Anthem
was recited by Megha Verma, followed by raising of the
India flag, then the India National anthem recited by
Priyana Khanna & Shreya Dudeja.
Cultural programs were followed by the speeches
of the dignitaries. Bollywood Rhythms had three of
their colorful dance teams. Dances were very well
choreographed by the artistic Director Mrs. Bhagya
Nagesh. Pathakas: performed by Sarah Parikh, Rhea
Singh, Rishelle Manda, Rishika Molugu, Neil Gupta,
Abhinav Gupta, Srikar Gutta, Dhruv Nagesh. Glamdolls
performed by Tanvi Kulkarni, Tanmayi Kadamuddi,
Shreya Mangesh, Alisha Kumar, Akankasha Shekar
and Stepz: by Minoo Vasudevan, Aishwarya Rajan and
Shalini Kumar.
Patriotic songs were sung by Ravi Dudeja, and Sudhir
Trika, and Gautham Khanna.
HSS Groups Jai Ho Song was performed by Yashasvi,
Asrith, Srivardhan, Tejaswi, Ankitha , Kimaya. and
Vandemataram by Karunya, Nithya, Sushma, Prachi.
Samskriti Foundation founded by Shoba Natarajan
had their team members Achintya Ram, Kaamya
Sundaresan, Maragatham Sundaresan, Namratha
Rajagopal, Padmini Navalpakkam, Rishi Satpathy, and
Shobha Kumarapuram sing a melodious chorus.
Jugalbandi by Swarupa Todatry, Manojna Namuduri,
Sruti Bhagavatula, Mythreyi Namuduri.
Finally a Kuchipudi Dance by Abitha Dhanraj.

light refreshments to all the attendees with delicious
packaged snacks and bottled mango juice to quench
the thirst.
Free raffles were distributed to all attendees. Persis
Biryani, Dakshin Restaurant and OMango offered
FREE Buffet Lunch to each of our raffle winners, there
were 40 winners, and 1 Grand price winner went home
with an Ipod Nano. The odds of winning was a mere
one in every eleven attendees.
With the help of our advertisers Mr. Ashok Lakshmanan
of PMSI (Professional Mortgage Solutions Inc), Mr.
David Babcock of Ambio Group, Mrs. Victoria Larson
of Allstate Agency, Dr. Sathya Meda Naga of Meda
Dental, Mrs. Sangeeta Kapoor of Coldwell Bankers,
Mr. Ramachandran of Balaji Grocers, we were able to
make this a great event. Our sincere thanks to all the

Sound system for the event was provided and
supervised by Mr. Seeni Gurusami, and mini Flags
and Raffle distribution by Mr. Ramesh Chittur. There
were many volunteers from HSS who contributed their
valuable time to make this event a successful one. Our
