 GC Vedic and CAIFA, two non-profit organizations established in Chicago join together to present the life story of Jagathguru Sri Adi Sankara through Tamil Drama. This will be held on August 25 Saturday evening 5.30PM at Lemont Sri Rama temple auditorium.

This play portrays all the important events in the life of Adi Sankara. The purpose of his avatar, his birth, his renunciation at tender age, his Vedic discussion with Vyasar, his debate with Mandanamishra and making him his disciple are all portrayed in detail in this drama. This drama portrays Adi Sankara’s advaita philosophy and the participants are enthusiastically practising for many weeks.

There are more than 20 friends and volunteers take part in this drama. Stage management is done by Ravikumar and Ganesh, Props are handled by Sriram, Priya and Indu, Makeup and costumes are carried out by Subhasri and Aneetha. Community publicity is this drama is written and directed by Sekar Chandrasekar. Last year, the same group, on the account of Sri Ramanujar’s 1000th anniversary, staged second time the drama ‘Ettram thandha Yathirajar’ in the presence of Sri Dhushyanth Sridhar (popular speaker on religious topics) got many more accolades.
