Brahma Premananda Ashram Celebrates Vaishakhi Mela

Chicago, IL: Brahma Premananda Ashram (BPA) Temple located at 31W211 IL Route 58 (Golf Rd.), Elgin, IL celebrated First Mataji Mela and Budha Jayanti event on the auspicious Vaishaki Purnima Day, on Sunday May 6th, 2012. A full day events were scheduled starting from 7am – 1pm and then 4pm – 8pm. Morning events started at 7am with 2 miles Padyatra to the Temple by group of devotees. Full day events included Kalash Puja, Dhaja Puja, Mataji Havan, Bhajan/Kirtan, Garba/Raas, Fireworks for Kids and unlimited supplies of popcorn and cotton candy was freely available. Over 400 plus visitors were able to take part and get blessings from the Mataji, Swamiji and Madi throughout the day. Mela was blessed with nice weather as most of the heavy rain miraculously came before and after all of the planned outdoor activities including Havan, fireworks for the kids and Raas/ Garbas. There was something for everyone throughout the day including beautiful singing, music as well as delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner (Mahaprasad) accommodations. (Illinois Chapter) held their Inaugural Function of AIA National Executive Committee and Annual Banquet and Dinner on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Ashyana Banquets, 1620 West 75th Street, Downers Grove, IL. During social hour everybody greeted each other and enjoyed a casual evening accompanied by soft drinks and delicious snacks. Chicago IL: Hand in Hand USA, a non-profit organization for humanitarian aid celebrated their 10th anniversary with a program that comprised great inspiring speeches along with good entertainment and excellent food. Over 250 people enjoyed this event held at Ramada Inn in Glendale Heights on Saturday, April 28. Entering guests were treated to some delightful hors d’oeuvres after the registration. The program started on time with a prayer song “Jyoth se Jyoth Jalathe Chalo” by Ms Shaila Khedkar followed by introductory remarks by Mr. Puneet Mansharmani, Master of the Ceremony and Smt. Durga Chunduri, President of HIH USA.She gave a brief report about the Organization and their current humanitarian projects in India which are Balashram, Outreach Medical Programs, Health clinics, Disaster Relief and.. so on.
