He leaves behind a 68 year old long legacy full of cherished memories as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, physician and benefactor of his community. After dedicating much of his life to caring for the sick and providing free medical services to indigent populations in Gujarat, India, Dr. Vasaiwala left behind his flourishing medical practice and large community of family and friends in order to ensure his children receive the best educational and career opportunities possible in the United States. In 1992, he relocated with his wife, Namrata, and three teenage children, Teresa, Smit, and Samip, to Chicago, where the fruits of his life’s labors blossomed as his daughter completed her Masters in Health Administration and twin sons completed medical school and professional trainings required to become practicing cardiologists at prestigious hospitals in Chicago and Boston.
