Bollywood Rhythms celebrated their 5th Annual Recital

Naperville, IL: Bollywood Rhythms celebrated their 5th Annual Recital with students and their families, friends and prominent leaders of our community on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Metea High School. Students of Bollywood Rhythms, ranging in ages from 3 to 50 yrs, adorned in colorful costumes, dazzled the audience of about 400 – 500 art lovers of Naperville area. It was 3.5 hours of pure entertainment that consisted of Bollywood/ Folk as well as Semi Classical dances which were presented by close to 200 students.

The theme of this year’s show was ” An Evening in Bollywood”, Bollywood Rhythms very creatively narrated simple stories through their dance routines . Our show was dedicated to all the mothers and the evening could not have been any better than watching their kids entertain them on that special day.The event marked the sheer celebration of Indian heritage, culture, dance and music. The students, the Artistic Director, Bhagya Nagesh, and all those who were involved in the presentation of the show deserve esteem.

Bollywood Rhythms students dressed in colorful costumes and gorgeous make up presented a beautiful medley of about 22 dances. The program opened with “ Ganesh Vandana” and soon picked up the speed with all the latest bollywood routines based on the theme that the team was dancing for be it Super Heroes, Around the world in 7 mins, When I grow up or A night at the museum etc. The show concluded with “Gangnam style and the famous harlem shake”, where all the 200 students came onto the the stage to conclude the show.

The biggest highlight of the show was a dance from Bhagya Nagesh with her 50 students and the dads in the studio performed to some foot tapping numbers.

Bhagya Nagesh is the founder and artistic director of Bollywood Rhythms. Bollywood Rhythms was born from her passion for dancing. She has been dancing / performing from the age of 5 yrs. Her diversity in dance expands from Indian semi classical to modern dancing. Her main focus over the past couple years is to promote cultural awareness within the community, mainly the kids and the youth, by performing, teaching, choreographing and organizing cultural events. Her studio has served over 3000+ students since they opened their doors in 2006. Bhagya has been awarded in India and in US for her choreography and her performances. She can perfectly blend western and classical Indian dance techniques to the beats of bollywood. And probably the only instructor around who specializes in south Indian “Tollywood dance” with ease.

Without a question, the reputation she has created for herself through hard work and her sincere dedication to dance has made Bhagya one of most sought-out instructors for young aspiring dancers in Chicago area.
