Games and Entertainment at Hari Om Mandir Annual Picnic

Chicago IL: Hari Om Mandir organized their annual picnic at Bussey Woods, Grove 18, Elk Grove Village, IL on Sunday, June 10th from 11-00 am. To 5-00 pm where hundreds of members , friends, and well-wishers participated. All those joined picnic enjoyed lots of games, snacks, music, raffle draw and much more.

Hari Om Mandir organizes picnic every year picnic in and summer. Chairman Ayodhia Salwan and President Rajiv Bharel as always was a model of sincerity and enthusiasm were running towards every nook and corner of the place to see that nobody get any difficulty and their team of executives, trustees and volunteers were on toes to maintain trouble free environment for all participants.

The picnic started with Puja and blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi, under the guidance of Mandir priest pandit Dinesh ji. Mata’s idol and a make shift temple was set up under a tree and remained open till the end of picnic.

The food team was ready with Dal Makhani, Salad, Naans, Vegetables, Kadhi Pakora, Fruit Custard, Mango seved during Lunch and at 3-00 pm. Water Melon was served and in Brunch at 4-30 pm tea with hot Pakora and Barfi was served.As and when the participants started arriving at the picnic site.

The temperature was in 90 degrees F and enough water and drinks, with paper cups and paper towels were stacked to supply to the thirsty participants throughout the day. Soft drinks like Coca Cola, Fanta, 7up also being served to compensate heat. Throughout the event, many Indian games and sports, such as cricket, volleyball, water balloons and other enjoyable items were played. Many competitions in various games for children as well as elderly people were aptly arrange and winners were rewarded with prize. A Raffle draw also was held and the winners were given prizes.

Finally, the picnic was enjoyed by all the guests due to dedication and hard work put in by members, volunteers and Board Members and Trustees of Hari Om Mandir. Notable among them were Subhash Sitaraman, Nalini Dave, Anup Saxena, Giri Dasani, Ramesh Malhan and Satish and Mira Chander.

Food was donated by Shree Restaurant & India House. Desert was prepared by Anju Bharel & Nalini Dave.

About Hari OM Mandir
Hari Om Mandir located at DuPage County in the heart of Chicago land. The Mandir has statues of all major North Indian Gods & Goddesses. Every Sunday there is a Havan and general congregation followed by Aarti and Bhojan Prasad. On every first Saturday of the month we have Devi Jagran from 7 – 10pm.
