Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Dazzling Concert Thrilled Chicagoans

Chicago IL : Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Live in Concert rocked Odeum Center, 1033 N Villa Ave, Villa Park , IL. On Saturday – May 5th, 2012 with yet another unforgettable performance show. Rahat mesmerized enthusiastic crowd (sold out Concert) for about 4 hours. Last year also he performed here. “It is huge public demand that brought him back this year too”, said by Vibrant Media Group organizer of the event. Tickets for show ranged from $35 to $200. Pakistani singer and composer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who launched a concert tour of the United States and Canada. The concert tour, which began April 14, 2012 in Fort Lauderdale, will take Khan to 15 cities in the United State and 4 cities in Canada. Concert in Chicago was 8th show of his US tour and last show will be on June 9, 2012 at Las Vegas. Aims to give his audience a state-of-the-art show with a bigger orchestra, better lighting and sound while retaining the essence of his Sufiyana style of music.

He was received by the audience with standing ovation and sang hits from various Bollywood films which rocked the crowd and kept the audience spellbound. The audience enjoyed some of his hits such as: Bodyguard- Teri Meri Mere Brother Ki Dulhan- Isq Risk Dabaang- Tere Mast Mast Do Nain Ishqiya- Dil To Bachcha Hai Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai- Tum Jo aaye My Name is Khan- Sajdaa and many more! The most awaited show was full of thrills that kept the crowd zooming from 8:45 pm onwards. The show Started with- ‘Tu Jane Na Aaspas……’ from picture Anjana Anjani and continued with many more making the entire audience rocking with his voice and melodious and hilarious music.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is one such musician who has transcended boundaries. He has been embraced by Indian cinema with open arms. His voice has moved audiences everywhere, and he has won a place in most hearts.
Cynics contend that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan enjoys this platform, the fact that he comes from an esteemed family of musicians. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan hails from the town of Faisalabad in Pakistan. The nephew of renowned Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat trained under him in various forms including classical music. He began his career at very young age, enthralling his first audience when he was only ten years old. Growing in maturity and skill, Rahat honed his art diligently and gained exposure under the tutelage of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

The untimely death of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was not just a shock to music lovers over the world, but also to Rahat and others who performed with him. Stepping into his shoes was no small feat and being able to recreate the magic of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan proved to be a daunting challenge. However, Rahat did great justice, and in a sense, also grew far beyond his years.

In addition to performing Qawali, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung in various Bollywood films and is very popular in India as well. Speaking about his experience in Bollywood, which began in 2004 with “Paap” directed by Pooja Bhatt, the singer said that Indian government has been extremely helpful in helping him expanding his artistic skills and the people in that country have been very receptive to his music. He has sung in a number of Bollywood films, including “Omkara,” “Om Shanti Om,” “My Name Is Khan,” “Singh Is King” and “Aja Nach Le.” Paying tribute to his late uncle, Khan said he gained an understanding about the audience, their tastes and preferences while performing with the legendary Qawwal. “I have learnt everything I know from him. It is in my blood, so the influence has to show,” Khan said. “My songs are in his style, so people don’t really ask me to compose as per his style.” More recently, Khan joined Shankar Mahadevan in the song “Aman Ki Asha.” Written by Gulzar, the song seeks to promote peace between India and Pakistan. “It has a heart-to-heart appeal, sounds warm and personal, and through its simple message of brotherhood between both sides of the border represents something that everybody would love to see happen,” Khan said.

Present in the audience included Senator Michael Noland, Schaumburg Mayor AL Larson, Illinois State Representative Michelle Mussman, Consulate General of Pakistan Chicago Mr. Zaheer Pervaiz Khan and prominent leaders from Indian and Pakistani Communities also were present. Sunil & Rita shah, Archies Desai, Kishor & Padmaben Mehta, Tushar Chotalia, Pradeep Shukla, Dr Srinivas Ravanam, Raghu Nayak, Rita Singh, Dhitu Bhagwakar, Nabella Rashid, Dr Mansoor Virani, Raj Patel were also present in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Concert.

Senator Michael Noland presented plaque admiring him for services rendered by Rahat Fateh Alikhan in music and singing. Munir Chaudhari on behalf of Muslim Community presented a Plaque and a book titled “Overview of Chicago” as a token of his services as one of the best singer. Comcast was the main sponsor of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Live in Concert. They donated color TV for raffle winner. Consulate General of Pakistan Chicago Mr. Zaheer Pervaiz Khan was honored for raffle draw. He gave color TV to raffle draw winner.

Among himself, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had many skilled musicians, all look stylish and very remarkable. Orchestra and singers are doubled, changing lights, large images on LED screens and a spectacular cast which brings more live impact on audiences. Vibrant Media Group was the main organizer of the event. Vibrant Media Group has done a fabulous job. The stage was decorated by Elegant Decor was very impressive. There was state-of-the-art set up on the stage. Odeum center never looked like this before.” The sound system was of very high quality and outstanding. VVIP arrangement was excellent for invited special guests. There was a special path way that lead straight to the main elevator, simply for the VVIP guests only. An extraordinary VVIP launched was magnificently decorated with white curtain, along with the impressive green carpet. Noman Khan and Eida along with dazzling fashion models and stunning Ms teen India USA, delighted VVIP guests with generosity. Models escorted VVIP guests to the main auditorium. This was the first time an artistic idea to accommodate the VVIP guests by Vibrant Media Group. Security also did excellent job for general audience. Deepak Patel, Mukaram, Chirag Shah, Maheen, Neha Modi, Dhruv Patel, Sohail and Dinesh Patel had done excellent job by doing overall management making the whole show seem most organized and well disciplined.
