Day-1
Edison, NJ: Chaalo Gujarat, World Gujarati Conference 2012 was organized by the Association of Indian Americans in North America (AIANA) in New Jersey, USA during Friday 31, August to Sunday 2, September, 2012 at the Raritan Expo Center. Theme of third Chaalo Gujarat event was Gujarat, Gujarati, Gujaratism. There were plenty Cultural and Art Performances arranged successfully during three days’ long Conference. Everybody present there, enjoyed fully the Culture of Gujarat, its Art, literature and Gujaratism.

Three days extravaganza under one roof conducted by Sunil Nayak, the person behind all these tremendous work, always love to experiment with and try to present something new every time. Owed as the biggest gathering of its kind outside India, Chaalo Gujarat attracted more than 30,000 for the duration of the conference. The State of New Jersey even issued a proclamation declaring Aug. 31 as Gujarati Day as recognition of the community’s contributions to the state.

A spectacular Multimedia show encompassing “Dhanya Dhara Saurashtra & Kutch Gaatha” was an enigma in itself to watch was an amazing experience. On the first day, everybody relished the Cultural and Artistic Media Show based on Kutchh and Saurashtra region the only such program arranged within the conference, the specialty of the program- Multi Media show presented was talk of our Culture on 80 feet large LED Screen was for the first time in USA depicting story of Kutchh and Saurashtra with Movie and Drama. The presentation was ably accomplished by Shailesh Trivedi, Rupal Trivedi and other team of people under the banner of Shakuntal Arts.

Beginning of the Multi- Media Show started with the entry of Professor and his wife Tilsa, the said drama woven through two Characters and thereafter through stories about Kutchh and Saurashtra depicted beauty fuuly on the stage. Rakesh Nayak in role of Professor and Rupal Trivedi in role of his wife really hold the audience spell bound. Lighting of the whole show was amazingly conducted by Utsav Trivedi. Talk of White Runn of Kutchh on the screen astonishes the audience. Thereafter a Chinese Traveller presents many new facts and facets about glimpses and wealth of Dholaveera. Hemant Sheth played the role of a Chinese Travellor and Virendra banker really mesmerized the audience by their beautiful dresses and befitting Makeup matched the acting.

Thereafter, Professor and his wife tell the audience story of Merandada and a beautiful video presentation accompanies it.. If we talk about Kutchh and Saurashtr, how anybody can forget the Fare of Tarnetar? At this stage audience astonished to see the Dance of Tarnetar Fare.

Talk of Professor, takes the audience ahead where Brave warriors and ladies (VIrangana) a part of , ‘Muliba’ Drama part starts. In role of Muliba- Vandana Majmudar and a person who shots the bird ‘Parmar” in his role Dhairya Nayak attracts the attention of all. The next incident was ‘Hemchandracharya’ Seeing the pitiable condition of people of the state, King Kumarpal and Hemchnracharyaji talks depicts the excellent past of the region. Samir Sheth acted exceelently in role of Hamchandaracharyaji. Dresses were provided by Mukeh Dresswala from Baroda which were really noteworthy.

Wife of Professor Tilsa (Rupal Trivedi) takes the story ahead. Now comes the story of Gujarati Shabd Kosh and starts the scenery about ‘Bhagwad Gomandal’. Director Shailesh Trivedi combined synchronized scenery combining Screen as well as Stage in absolutely new manner presents the whole scene beautifully. Gondal King Bhagwatsinghji-Chandulal, Diwan, Kaviraj and other common people presents the wonderful scenery. Side by side of talk of Bhagawad go Mandal Ras presnts wonderful scene. This is welcomed by the audience by standing ovation. Presented by U.K. Ras Group was worth praising.

Now Professor twists the story. Today, everybody goes to foreign for studying English ,whereas in past students used to come from over the world to study in Vallabhi Vidyapeeth. Today this Vidyapith is in pitiable condition, which is being shown. Naturally with reminder of Vallabhipur comes ‘Bhavsabhar Bhavnagar’ takes the audience to the memory of Grand Past of Bhavnagar.

Attraction of the Media Show was the scene of Court with Zaverchand Meghani. It was a magnificent Screen and Stage combination. Due to action packed drama and befitting role played by the actors, the Court Scene was presented resembling the real Court. Samir Shah played the role of Zaverchand Meghani spontaneously, his acting was superb and wit its main song Talk about Kutchh and Saurashtra was woven beautifully and all the actors of Nritya Natika presented ‘Gujarat Tane Vandan’ song with Dance make every Gujarati bow to the earthy of Gujarat..Presentation of Drama and Dance inter woven was with the help of Mare group of London along with Smita Micky Patel group India Performing Center from New Jersey did wonderful combination deserved compliments for their lion share.

Day-2
AIANA and Sunil Nayak Organized World Conference of Gujaratis ‘Chalo Gujarat was a grand success, which was held from 31st. August through 2nd. September, 2012 in New Jersey. The event ended successfully amongst great enthusiasm and was full of entertainment and variety amalgamating art and technology together for presentation. On the second day, once again ‘Kheda- Surat’ Multy Media Show was a grand success owing to its Multifacial characteristics. Directed by Shailesh Trivedi, starting Utsav Trivedi. This is a story of motherland Kheda started with Space Tour narrated by Ami Patel which gripped the audience. Along with the story of Kheda, Dramatic version of devotee Bodana with Lord Krishna in the holy city of Dakore woven around the statue of Lord Ranchhodraiji and his unselfish total devotion. The program started with showing his wife Gangabai,s readiness to allow weing her golden ornament ‘earrings’ (vali) in praying for the Lord Krishna. This episode was beautifully presented by Director Shailesh Trivedi. The entire scene was really praiseworthy and resembled the actual incident. Samir Shah in role of Lord Krishna, Smita Gandhi in role of Gangabai and Dhairya Nayak, Vedant Nayak and Hasit Dani in the role of villagers and Govals, gave full justice to their roles.
Thereafter a beautiful Dance was presented and along with the same a new pair of Chhagankaka and Shakrikaki cropped up which enhanced the drama. Rakesh Nayak in role of Chhagankaka and Rupal Trivedi in role of Shakrikaki were loudly complimented because of their lively role. Story of Kheda moves forward by presenting the scene of killing of 28 prisoners during 1857 revolt against British Raj. The whole episode was so touchy that brought tears in the eyes of many sensitive spectators. On one side the spirit of Kheda was depicted and on the other side was fight justice and freedom presented by Mahatma Gandhiji and Sardar Patel refreshed the memories our independence fight. After the episode of Lagan, the story of Ravishankar Maharaj amking Dacoits leaving their criminal acts and succumbed to the pressure of joining Freedom Fight under leadership of Mahatma Gandhiji which was really eye catching. Shailesh Trivedi in role of Ravishakar Maharaj and Mahatma Gandhiji was really note worthy and outstanding.

After the presentation of Ravishankar Maharaj’s episode a really beautiful Dance was presented by Mehr Group of U.K. which pleased the entire audience, Thereafter Rakesh Nayak and Rupal Treivedi talked about Pandit Omkarnath Thakur and a beautiful Screen Play about him was presented.

Next came the story of Surat, which naturally reminded Veer Narmad and his famous song ‘Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat’. The presentation was regarding fine Dance Song played by Narmad bowing to the legs of DevSaraswati. Ronak Rajput in role of Narmad received standing ovation for his magnificent performance.
Lastly the scene of Risi Dadhichi was presented where Rishi Dadhich sacrificed his own life and donating his own bones to Lord Indra for purpose of successfully killing the Demons. Depicting the role of Maharshi Dadhichi, acting of Hemant Sheth was superb.

During the whole Multi Media Show including Scenery, Music, Light Effects, Sound and Dresses of actors were appropriately synchronized and was a great asset and contribute the most in Grand Success of the entire event. Director of Shakuntal Arts, Shri Shailesh Trivedi and his team of Artists presented Rakesh Nayak and Rupal Trived acted as leading artists.

Dress and Makeup was by Mukesh Dresswala from Baroda. Light Effects were controlled by Ronak Rajput and Utsav Trivedi. Presentation of Dance and Raas-Garba was accomplished by Mehr Group of U.K. and Smita Micky Patel from New Jersey (India Perform Center) and Bhagat Family. Screen presentation, recording etc. and Multy Media Show was accomplished by Manish Baradiya, Archan Trivedi and Ankur Patha. Photo Publicity of the whole show was done by Asian Media USA Team.

Day-3
On 3rd or last day, evening of the ‘Chalo Gujarat’ 2012 Mahotsav began with ‘Nritya Vandana’ and Ganesh Stuti. Thereafter Vikas and Pragati as MC inform the entire group of spectators the story of Gujarat. Sonali Thaker and Ronak Rajput are the renowned artists hailed from Ahmedabad and settled in Canada.

The first scene was city of ‘Lothal’, a reminder of our ancient culture. During that period, Lothal was a famous hub center of Business used the Sea as transportation . Rakesh Nayak acted as a king of Lotahl. He was supported by Samir Shah, Dhairya Nayak and Shailesh Trivedi as Foreign sea going travelers. From background of the stage all artists and Director Shailesh Trivedi, narrated the detailes of the whole vibrant Lothal City, its activities, art etc. was superbly presented. Thereafter the scene of Grand Somnath and Chouladevi astounded the whole audienc. Rupal Trivedi in role of Chauladevi was par excellence. Her acting, speech and dressing fascinated the audience.

In between two items, Mehr Group of U.K. presented a beautiful Dance. This was applauded loudly.
Story of Gujarat proceeded forward and now comes the story of ‘Gandhi’s Confession’. It started with theft by child Gandhi and scolded by his father, Introspection on bad habbits in lie of bad company and scene of bagging pardon from father through letter was a real gem effecting and touching the entire audience. Kush Shah as small in collaboration with other artists Vedant Nayak and Shlok Shah were breathtaking. To the credit of Director Shailesh Trivedi that such presentation was possible from all three participants, who have born and brought up in USA.

Going further in continuing story of Gujarat comes the entry of Parsi Community in Gujarat. Maha Gujarat Movement led by Indulal Yajnik and talk about famos poet Raghunath Brahmbhatt screen presenation, Multy Media Show becomes a long lasting memory of life. Compliments and credit goes to Shailesh Trived and Rupal Trivedi along with Dhairya Nayak, Ramesh Nayak, Kush Shah, Vandana, Kamlesh Bhatt, Divesh Tripathi, Kumar Hasita Rani, Shlok Shah, Vedant Majmudar, Preeti Nayak and Virendra Banker.
Stage Lighting effects of the entire program was planned and operated by Utsav Trivedi. Smita Micky Patel’s India Performing Group from New Jersey, Bhagat Family Raksh group and Mehr Group of U.K. played vital role in presenting successful programs of Dances, Garba and Raas etc.

The success story continues with eye popping performance by Manish Baradiya, Directed by Archan Trivedi and Choreographed by Ankur Pathan, Fabupous Screen Presentation and Recording made all presentation memorable.

Mukesh Dresswala from Baroda did excellent job by fulfilling the important requirement of appropriate colorful dresses and suitable Makeup were noteworthy aspect of the entire program which really helped entire presentation of Chalo Gujarat.
