The FIA led by Founder chairman Sunil Shah, and Current President Hitesh Gandhi, Past President Neil Khot, Founder and Past President Onkar Singh Sanga and the entire board of directors created an atmosphere of patriotism with an India centric program during the afternoon hours. The program started with a prayer Bharat Natyam dance by Board member Bharatnatyam exponent and choreographer Pika Munshi. This was followed by the Indian and American National Anthem. and Lamp Lighting by the FIA Leadership and the entire Board. A remarkable journey that started 25 years ago with our first ever publication Sandesh USA Inc Since then, the group has organized countless successful events, concerts, cultural shows that brought the Indian traditions to America Chicago, IL – Hi India, the trusted publication of Indian Americans, recently marked one of its biggest milestones with a devotional Sunderkand event that was much loved by the community. Chicago Hurricanes won the game by 65 runs Chicago IL: Hurricanes lead by Pruthvish Patel opened their season against Chicago Phantoms who came into this game with a huge win from their previous matchup with Destroyers. The Hurricanes won the toss and decided to bat first. The decision seemed like a good idea since some of the key players on the team did not show up for the opening. Salman Ahmed and Dhairya Mistry opened the innings. Salman who is known to open on mostly all the teams that he has played on could not hold his end for more than 4 balls. Jasim Sajjad managed to get another wicket right after by taking Sargam Patel for a duck. Samir Chaudhari sunk his teeth into the attack when he took out the left hander Jay Patel for a duck soon after. Skokie Sports was lit up with new LED lights on six light poles. The cricket pitch had ample of light in the middle, which eliminates an issue that most players face when they bat on any of the grounds in Chicagoland. The players and team owners were absolutely thrilled at the new addition to infrastructure which has been overlooked by many organizers. CPL owner Adil Azeem Khan said, “This is just the beginning of better cricketing infrastructure in Chicago and that he has planned several more improvements along the way to wow the Chicago crowd.” Chicago Phantoms and Chicago Destroyers opened the 2022 Chicago Premier League (CPL) season. The event, held at the grounds of the local White Eagle elementary school, was attended by over four hundred people from White Eagle and the surrounding neighborhoods. Rita and Anshika Singh launched the academy at the start of the pandemic as a way for both kids and adults to get active while needing to stay indoors. Rita Singh is an incredibly creative entrepreneur, investor, and community leader based in Chicago. Her brand, S R, houses a variety of her own companies that fall under the domains of IT staffing, real estate, and entertainment. Her daughter, Anshika Singh is a technology consultant at a Fortune 500 company. She is also a Purdue graduate, former Femina Miss India finalist, and talented dancer. All their classes were initially taught virtually over Zoom for the first 12 months to ensure the safety of all students. BAPS hosted leaders of faith-based organizations at its centers across North America in ‘Unity Forums’ to have a dialogue on protecting and preserving Vedic Sanatana Dharma and to discuss public safety and other challenges affecting places of worship in the presence of renowned scholar of Hindu Philosophy and Sanskrit, Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami.
